Coleman Lensatic Compass
Not only will it tell you what direction you're
going, but a compass is also able to detect high EMF readings. The compass will
start to spin if there are high readings in an area. Some investigators believe that
using a compass is actually more reliable since it takes a higher EMF reading to make the
compass spin.

Parabolic Microphone
The parabolic microphone is a hand-held
sonic listening device. It is super-sensitive and can pick up voices and sounds up
to 300 feet away. We utilize this to pick up E.V.P.'s and the sounds will be
captured by a recorder.

| The equipment
listed above is just some of the items that we utilize.
We are currently looking into getting IR cameras to add to
our list. If your investigation requires IR cameras and monitoring equipment, until
we have our own, we can refer you to another local area paranormal group that is better
suited for those needs.
Some groups have more equipment, some
have less. It's not only a matter of how much money you want to spend on equipment
but it is also about what works best for you. We have the equipment that we have
because we wanted to use them or test them out. You don't have to spend hundreds or
thousands of dollars to get equipment when you get involved in this field. In fact,
here is a list of simple and inexpensive items that you may already have sitting around
your home:
Any type of recorder whether it is
large or small, tape or digital.
A compass can be used as a E.M.F.
detector. The compass will spin when there are high E.M.F. spikes. The only
setback to this is that you have to be mindful of which direction is actually north.
I have heard some investigators say that they believe the compass to be more
reliable than the E.M.F. detectors when it comes to ghost hunting.
A flashlight.
A camera. It can be 35mm,
digital or even the disposable ones that you can pick up at the gas station.
Extra batteries.
A pen and some paper to keep a log of
your investigation.
And remember, if you do want to get
more equipment, Ebay and the many online stores are your friends! In fact, that's
where we got some of our tools that you see listed above. You can also check with
local paranormal groups that may be willing to part with some of their equipment for a
reasonable price. |
